Gboard is one of the best third-party keyboards available for iPhones, but you probably don't know everything you need to know about it to become a real Gboard pro and stop using Apple's stock keyboard for good. Apple's patent application is pretty broad, basically taking ownership of any flexible barrier under a keyboard. Then open the keyboard, tap and hold on the Globe icon and select your newly installed keyboard to switch to it. The Globe key is also how you cycle between all the installed keyboards.

And you wonder why Apple is replacing entire top case assemblies—including batteries—when they only really need to replace the keyboard. Sure, you can press Command-Shift-4 to select an area to capture to the Desktop (Command-Shift-3 saves the whole screen as a file on the Desktop), but if you add the spacebar you'll access more options.

Airplane mode is the first option when you tap Settings. You can get at special accent marks for specific language support by tapping and holding the corresponding letter key. The new language's name appears briefly on the space bar to identify it. Tap the little App Store icon to the left of the message input field.

The keyboard tracks your fingers movement, making the cursor on the screen smaller and easier Domains to navigate. At the end of a sentence, you can tap the space bar twice in a row and the iPad will output a period, a space and turn the caps key on so that you are ready for the next sentence.

There's a hidden feature on the iPhone 6s and later that turns your keyboard into a laptop trackpad. On smaller iPads, basically 10.5 and under, you can undock and move the keyboard, and split it left and right for easier thumb typing.

I'm scaling whole app when keyboard shows - it seems be working. The keyboard appears automatically whenever you tap in a place where typing is possible: in an outgoing email or text message, in the Notes program, in the address bar of the web browser, and so on.
